ABOUT ME.

Meet Sara
Because real life doesn’t always fit neatly into 50-minute sessions, my work happens outside the traditional office — wherever you feel most comfortable.
I offer longer sessions, walk-and-talk support, and services that come to you, creating space for natural, meaningful connection.
My approach blends professional training with lived experience.
As a Registered Social Worker in Vernon, BC, my work is recognized by most extended health benefit plans and includes therapeutic education, advocacy, and hands-on support.
I help families understand their child’s needs, navigate schools, healthcare, and other systems, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Both parents and teens benefit from having consistent, knowledgeable support they can rely on.

Personal Life
I’m a mom to two amazing teens (both autistic, one with Type 1 diabetes), so I know just how exhausting parenting can be at every stage.
I stepped away from frontline social work to homeschool my youngest, but I promised myself that when life settled, I’d open a practice to show up for families the way I wished someone had shown up for mine.
When I’m not with clients, my life looks pretty ordinary:
-
True crime podcasts are usually on in the background.
-
Treadmill reality TV bingeing is my cardio.
-
Astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, and tarot rabbit holes.
-
Weekly breathwork to keep me regulated.
-
Dinner dates with my spouse, who I met on a blind date 23 years ago.
-
Couch hangs with my kids.
-
Rearranging and redecorating our home built in 1932.
-
Housework, yardwork, and all the invisible work that comes with running a household.
-
Forcing my indoorsy self outside long enough to remember nature isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
And in the background of all of it, building a forest-based carriage haus and wellness campus for future sessions and community gatherings. You can follow along @knolhaus

Raising children with invisible disabilities and navigating broken systems showed me one thing: the usual rules of counselling don’t apply.
So I broke a few.
Longer sessions. Playful support. Walks instead of waiting rooms.
