COUNSELLING BEYOND THE COUCH

all of you is welcome, wherever we meet

Spaces that don’t feel like a clinic, sessions that don’t feel like a transaction, and connection that extends beyond the hour.

Welcome Home

KNOL HAUS is here for the hard years offering flexible counselling for overwhelmed parents, struggling adolescents, and people carrying more than their fair share.

This work meets families where they are, literally and emotionally. Based in Vernon, BC, sessions take place in my home, in clients’ homes, or outdoors, because support doesn’t always require an office chair, and some conversations land better side by side.

KNOL HAUS creates space to vent, process emotions, unpack childhoods, move energy, gain clarity, and ask the harder questions. It is a space where clients can soften the performance, unmask, and show up as they are without needing to hold everything together for everyone else.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, the environment itself becomes part of the intervention, using nature, movement, creativity, and real-life connection as active tools for change and integration.

Real support for real families through real seasons.

That’s KNOL HAUS.

KNOL-Trees-Caramel

A Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting families through the harder seasons of life. I work with parents and teens navigating autism and other neurodiverse diagnoses, school challenges such as refusal and inclusion, individualized education plans, homeschooling options, mental health concerns, caregiver burnout, family stress, peer and sibling relationships, and questions around gender, sexuality, and identity. I also support families during MCFD involvement and help them access the systems and resources they need.

Connecting with a counsellor before things reach a breaking point can make a significant difference. Teens especially benefit from having a trusted adult outside the family, someone they feel safe with and can turn to when they need it.

My role isn’t to fix or judge, but to provide steady, confidential support, practical strategies, and space to build confidence in how they navigate what’s in front of them.

Real support for real life

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or both, you may feel right at home here if...

  • You’re done pretending this isn’t hard.

  • You value warmth and humour alongside clear, honest conversation.

  • You’re juggling diagnoses, systems, appointments, and expectations.

  • You’re open to sessions that may include movement, time in nature, intuitive exploration, creative expression (such as art, music, or games) and practical skill-building.

  • You’re willing to show up, reflect, and integrate between sessions.

  • You’re hoping your child or teen will change while everything else stays the same.

  • You’re looking for step-by-step instructions instead of exploring what might actually fit you and your family.

  • You’re looking for a quick fix instead of steady, meaningful integration.

  • You need crisis-level or emergency support.

Autism. ADHD. Type 1 Diabetes. Burnout. Public school.
Private school. Homeschool.

No textbook teaches you how to live like that.

But it teaches you how to walk with people who do.
